People living with depression and people at risk of colorectal cancer

In session 12, we explored the value and usability of AI-powered information features for depression and colorectal cancer screening.

We explored the perceived value and usability of new AI-powered information features with 4 people living with depression, and 4 people who have previously screened for colorectal cancer. We found that our AI-powered guides and a chatbot address the need for health information that is accessible, reliable and tailored to specific queries outside of clinical consultations, offering value to these user groups. Participants particularly valued access to information about their treatment options to prepare for discussions with clinicians. Participants wanted greater transparency about the source of information shared through these features, to facilitate trust in their reliability.

Participants found that information features were generally easy to use and navigate. However, the copy in the app could be improved to support navigation through the app, especially during onboarding. Participants also suggested that the role of information features within the context of Fora Health’s broader offering should be more clearly defined.
